In this release we fixed a lot of bugs/errors were were seeing on our end.

Tutorial Refactoring

In addition, we noticed that about 13% of our players were dropping off near the end of tutorial. After talking to friends, we were reminded of something that we knew. NO ONE READS THE TUTORIAL INSTRUCTIONS. 

At the end of the tutorial, player grabs a donut(powerup) which they are suppose to use to move forward with the tutorial. However, we turn off boosts-bursts and it is very hard to catch up since using the powerup with give you a massive boost. 

Powerup Help in Objective

We added an animation of tap as well as instruction in the objective. The current completion rate is 77%, goal is 85%.

Traffic variations

The game has 4 types of roads

  • Same direction traffic
  • Fork/split road
  • Two direction traffic
  • Opposite direction traffic

Car stats and reward balance

We noticed that no one was buying new cars. There were two assumptions

  • People did not care because the cars did not seems different besides the look
  • It took too much time to collect coins

Changes made

  • Add stats to car
  • Give out more rewards initially to help players unlock the first car
